In 2016, playwright Emily Steel had a termination after her baby was diagnosed with Down Syndrome. This is her story. It’s sad and funny, familiar and surprising, not self-righteous or guilt-ridden but complex and truthful. Come sit by the pool, put your feet in the water, and listen.

19 weeks was first performed at the Adelaide Fringe 2017.
In 2018 a new version of the show toured to Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne.
A radio adaptation was produced by BBC Cymru Wales and broadcast on BBC Radio 4.
In 2019 a new production was staged by Northern Lights Theatre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
In 2020, 19 weeks was made into a film.
